OPP investigating report of suspicious man approaching children in West Perth

Police are warning parents after a man driving a pickup was seen approaching two children waiting for a school bus at the end of a driveway near Fullarton.

The Perth County OPP is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who approached two children waiting for a school bus at the end of a rural driveway in West Perth Monday morning.

According to police, the man, driving an older-model burgundy pickup truck with extensive rust holes in the rear wheel wells, drove slowly past the children waiting at the end of the driveway on Perth Line 32 near Fullarton, made a U-turn and stopped in front of the driveway with his window down.

Watching from her front door, a parent yelled for the children to run to the house, after which the man drove away quickly along Perth Road 140.

Police say the man, described as being older and heavy set with a shaved head and a white beard, did not say anything to the children.
